That's the site for the lair manager.
I'll let AWOL provide the more detailed explanation, but some time when you two and I are all on, we can find some volunteers and go explore the Kingsmouth lair area and I'll show you the principles behind a lair raid.
The short form is this:
There are always three missions.
- One is 'kill a certain number of creatures' (usually between three and five different types).
- One is 'collect stuff'.
- One is 'once you have collected stuff, you will have an item. Do something with the item.'
Doing something with the item - whatever it is - almost always attracts mobs. I think it's safe to say 'always attracts mobs', and you generally have to protect the item for a certain duration.
Because you're killing creatures and attracting mobs, you'll want a tank and a healer. But you only really need one tank and one healer: your DPS should be able to stay safe, so long as they follow the tank and let the tank keep aggro.
In the course of killing creatures and collecting stuff, you will have collected boss fragments. Everyone who turns in a mission also gets fragments - but those who turn missions in can choose the fragments they get!
So the lair manager program reads which fragments you have in inventory, and tells you which fragments to ask your raid members for, to maximise the number of bosses you can make. (The website gives clear instructions on using the program.)
As you can imagine, turning in the missions and handing you the fragments takes some time, then assembling bosses does too. The only safe place in a lair is the vicinity of the lair's 'summoning circle'. So you go there to do that.
Then once you have your bosses assembled, you stand in the summoning circle and activate it, and other raid members click on the heart that appears (I'm sure you've seen that), and you fight the bosses! You get neat rewards - the whole raid does.
Lair bosses drop fragments for region bosses - one set for solomon island, one for egypt, one for transylvania. You probably won't get enough pieces to make a region boss until you've run a number of lairs.
In the meantime, give the region boss fragments to ... dammit, I know one of the higher-than-me officers is taking particular responsibility for handling lair fragments. But I don't remember who. I'm sure whoever it is will respond. 🙂 Failing that, give region boss fragments and leftover lair boss fragments to occifers so they can be collected, and handed out to people who run lairs.
Of course, that also means that if you're running a lair, ask (in advance, please) an officer for the fragments for whichever lair you're running.
