JimJack checking in. Thanks to everyone for the fine greetings last night. Its good to be here. A little about me.

I'm a retired US military. I've been married 38 years to my childhood sweetheart. I have two children in their 30's, and three grandkids. I'm probably a little old to be playing RPGs, but considering that I started playing D when I was in high school back in the early 70's- before it became AD - maybe I'm justified? by the late 70's, I had a Commodore C64 with tape drive. Set it up to load a tape with a game on it, go have supper, and it'd be fully-loaded by the time I got back. I graduated to an Atari ST, and continued my love affair with AD with all of the early RPGs such as Pools of Radiance. The ST soon fell from grace and I've been a PC boy ever since.

My son played EQ beta, and I looked over his shoulder a lot. I bought it and played from the first day of release until just a few months ago, when I finally decided to give TSW a look. I haven't even logged on to EQ in about three months.

I played WoW for the first three years, taking a break from EQ for a while. I also played AO, Eve, EQ2, and a host of console RPGs.

Living here in the woods of NH, you can almost hear the trees growing. I like to play TSW in the mornings over coffee. I do a lot of work on my five John Deere tractors, maintenance and restorations. I like scuba diving for jewelry and coins with my metal detector. I like to drink beer and raise hell when all of my friends and family come over. Life is good. Lessee is there anything else? Hmmm, I guess that's about it. I'm just a normal everyday red-blooded American male with a serious jones for gaming.

Very happy to become a part of this cabal. Excuse me if I slip and call it a guild once in a while. I've been in EQ mode for a long time. I'm always happy to lend a hand with anything someone needs when I am online. Just holler! I'll be all set to do nightmares with anyone as son as I can get that danged Gatekeeper behind me. He's giving me fits! Anyhow, hello and well-met. See you guys in-game!

Welcome to ODO 😀 as for GK if one of the modes gives you too much trouble you should check out the other as they might be easier to complete.

Welcome, Jim! Great introduction, enjoyed reading it.

Big C64 fan here. 🤓 And you're never too old to have fun playing games, of course. 😀

welcome and salutations, if you're trying GK as a tank, just, let it go, not worth it, the outcome is too much rng based, if you're trying to pew your way in as a dps, you'll get it sooner or later....

...OR, you can unlock the easy mode and try it as a healer, might be worth a shot if you see you have too much trouble. Most of his tactics are outdated anyway, and you'll learn new stuff when you can actually run nightmares.

Feel free to ask in cabal chat for a decks or advices, always plenty of folks willing to help

    Holy Carp! spelling intended

You guys are great. Such a nice welcome. Thank you so much!

Yes, I'll get to work on the GK. Does anyone in here do NMs during EST mornings? I was told by someone that ODO is primarily a USA cabal. Is this true?

Nah, we're international. We run In late time EST, in the morn, in the evening, in all time zones as they appear 🙂 Some times are slower than others (I'm late night EST personally, unless off of work)

We have people on every time zone 🙂

ODO has very strong presence in both European and American time zones. EST morning is mid afternoon for Europe, so there should be people about. But you just have to ask around if people are up for NMs during that time.
