Any good build suggestions for blade users?

So far I have concluded a few things and I'm not sure they're right.

Is blade beat used as a solo weapon?
With the way Spirit blade works is seems to me that a blade DPS would be better never using your secondary weapon.

Because spirit blade does so much damage, even just using a basic attack seems like a better option than switching to a secondary weapon. Even out of energy or chi it seems to me a better option to just build chi and and energy with sword attacks and blow it all when the energy fills up.

So what do you all think?

I'm not a blademaster, but want to say something regarding a secondary weapon.

Even if you want to only use your primary, every weapon have a hard hitting power ability with 5 energy cost. Equip one of those (with instant cast) as your secondary and you can burn through secondary energy from full to empty in three swings, when out of blade energy and chi. I'm fairly sure that damage from those three big quick hits will exceed a possible loss caused by delay of spirit blade.
