Okay, I joined the cabal, DL'ed Discord, logged in and it was empty. Is this typical? Most times "clans" I've known have used voice chat for general "chat", then designated sub-chat for special ops. What am I missing?

Voice chat activity varies widely on time, day and who's online really. Many of us aren't able to just hang out in voice chat as much as we'd like to, so there tends to be more chatter going on in the text channels.

Yeah, with the exception of a few people who just like to chat about nothing in particular, voice chat is generally only used for high level raids like E5 and E10 NYR. That said, if you want to hang out and do voice chat for any reason, feel free to post in cabal chat in game that you're hanging out on discord voice chat and you might get some visitors to hang out with you.

I personally don't do voice chat because my home environment is annoyingly noisy, so even when I'm logged into a chat room for a raid, I'm only listening.

I was asked by a stranger in General chat what the Discord login was. Not something I do much, so I gather it's not a secret, but what exactly do I post?

The cabal discord is for cabal members and people they know. It's not something we really give to random strangers 😊

Do we share it for Fight Club?

I had it on the odo page on fdfc.info for about 12 hours. it's gone now. I had asked in cabal chat and I was told it wasn't a secret. Apolgies.

Not a problem mate 😃 It's best not to use the odo discord for fightclub, as it's hard for discord to distinguish between members of the cabal and random people unless we sit down and tag everyone as they come in.
Tbh, the easiest thing is to just start a new fight club discord server - that way you can ping it with adverts for the next event too and (hopefully) it won't bother people enough to get muted 😝

There should be some announcement to the membership about the correct distribution of the ODO Discord info. When I asked in game, this wasn't the general understanding.

So I setup Roles for folks,
If I understand correctly, people who are not assigned a Role get the @everyone role which just allows communication?
Then, if an individual gets assigned a role, those abilities get associated with that individual.
I setup roles for ODO, ODO Officers, Me, and everyone else. Does that seem likely?

I'd say that it's a good idea to have some admins in there so that if you get someone being disruptive they can be handled by whoever gets there first instead of having one person (ie you) having to sort it all out. They don't have to be officers, it can be anyone you're comfortable with having POWER. 😎

I believe I gave the officers that ability.
