Who's in charge of this madhouse?

Grand Master of ODO is a title that rotates among the Master Commanders every 3 months. Master Commanders are selected from the ranks of ODO members that have been nominated by other officers. Since another of the requirements for being an officer is to be active in the game, officer status can change as members go inactive. You can view the rank of any player in ODO by logging on to SWL and hitting Shift+F on your keyboard to access the Friends menu. Behind the Friends tab is a Cabal tab that will show you which cabal members are online, as well as their current location and Cabal rank. Members with Standard Bearer, Master Commander or Grand Master rank have bank withdrawal privileges. If you have a dispute with a fellow caballie or a concern you would like to be addressed, contact one or all Master Commanders or the Grand Master. If your problem is with an officer, be sure to include the Grand Master in who you address.
    Our current officers are:

    • Alphabethead
    • Atren
    • AWOL
    • Eris-Discordia
    • Lady-Pyre
    • teg
    • Voodoocrazy
    • Zerachild

Can I have alts in the cabal?

Yes, you can have as many alts in the cabal as you want! If you do have multiple characters, please remember to add them here so that we know who is who! To add characters to your web account, click the green button with your name in the top left to get to your profile page. You can add characters there. Simply ask a Standard Bearer (or above) for an invite for your alt.

Cabal bank--what's that? How does it work?

Once you join the cabal, you will have access to a second tab behind your personal bank tab. If you are a patron, you will be able to add items to the cabal bank. Knights and Squires may not remove items from the cabal bank. Standard Bearers, Marshals, Master Commanders and the Grand Master may remove items from the bank (assuming the are ALSO patron, of course). If you would like to donate something to the cabal bank, and you are not a patron, simply post in cabal chat to find out if there is an ODO member with patron status willing to drop something in the bank for you.

Can I have an item from the cabal bank? How do I get it?

Items that are in the cabal bank are available for any cabal member to use (within reason). There are no hard and fast rules about how many items you can request, but use common sense and don't be greedy. They are also intended to be USED not SOLD. We're not going to check behind you and see if you sold that expensive signet, so it's on YOUR HONOR to only request items you actually need. Summoning essences (regional boss, world boss) are usually restricted for use in cabal runs. The lair boss essences are being saved in case a lair run goes sideways and someone ends up missing an essence for the summon. Everything else is fair game. To get it, find a member of Standard Bearer rank or higher online to get it out for you by posting in cabal chat. You may need to wait a bit, as they could be busy, and some dungeon runs can take an hour or more. It is also considered polite for YOU to meet up on THEM (usually at the bank kiosk in Agartha) although that's just a recommendation, not a rule.

What can go in the bank as a donation?

    • 3 pip "green" extraordinary weapons and talismans (no, we don't want two pip green stuff)
    • "blue" weapons and talismans for fusion fodder
    • signets and 3 pip glyphs (but not all signets and glyphs are created equal--see below)
    • cosmetic items from caches (no cosmetics from Kaidan containers, and USUALLY don't want cosmetics from events)
    • summoning essences for regional bosses (RB), world bosses (WB) or lair bosses
    • unredeemed kaiden container keys

What do we NOT want in the bank?

Bank space is limited and if it gets filled up with cheap crap that no one wants, we won't have room for the "good stuff". Generally speaking, if it's selling for less than 300 marks on the auction house, it's not something we want stored in the cabal bank. There are signets no one wants (any head signet, some of the occult signets, healing signets etc.) because they are no good or dirt cheap to buy. Periodically an officer or a Standard Bearer will go through and clean out the bank, but it's appreciated if you just avoid putting in the cheap crap in the first place.

Because the bank is more or less "free for all", do not put anything in the bank that you expect to get back. It is not to be used to transfer stuff to an alt (If you need stuff transferred to an alt, just yell in Cabal chat. Some slacker standing around in Agartha can probably help you with that), or as a supplement for personal storage. Consider anything you put into the cabal bank a donation to the cabal that you will never see again. That also applies to if you should ever leave the cabal for one reason or another - we don't keep track of who put what in and you will not be able to request your items back if you leave.

    How do I get into cabal-run lairs/regional/raids?

Planned events will be listed on the events page of the ODO website https://omnedatumoptimum.red/events . Signing up for an event on this page guarantees you a spot for that event, assuming you show up at the listed time. Your spot will be given away at the discretion of the raid leader, if you do not show up on time.

Spontaneous events happen all the time, and the leader of the team/raid/lair will usually begin the recruiting process in cabal chat. The person forming the team has the right to invite anyone they want, but generally once the call is posted in cabal chat it is first come first served, so it's to your benefit to PAY ATTENTION TO CABAL CHAT. Some raid leaders will also post in Discord, but that is NOT guaranteed, so do not rely on Discord as your sole source of teaming information. Typing + or X in cabal chat is a common (and preferred) way to indicate your interest in joining whatever team is forming.

You can also request an event by asking for team members in cabal chat. To be brutally honest, getting a viable team together is a lot easier if you are the tank, but you don't HAVE to be a tank to put together a group. You just have to be willing to find a tank (and maybe a healer) to finish out the team.

Do I HAVE to use Discord/voice chat?

Use of voice comm is only REQUIRED during high level raids such as E10 NYR and E5 NYR, and even then, you only have to listen to the raid leader. Information on our Discord server is posted in the in-game message of the day, which will be the first thing you see in cabal chat once you log on. If you are not doing the high level raids you don't have to download and install Discord, but the text chat in Discord can be a fun way to connect with fellow caballies. There are also several voice chat rooms provided for non-raid purposes in case you just want to hang out and talk trash with your closest friends and enemies. If you join the Discord server, it is requested that you update your Discord nickname to match your in-game name. You can do this by right clicking on your name in Discord and select Change Nickname. This will only change your nickname in OUR SERVER. Your name will not change in any other server you belong to.

How do I use emojis on this forum?

You won't find an emoji button on the forums, as we use the windows ones (apparently it makes it easier or something?). You can open the emoji panel using the windows key and either period (win+.) or semi colon (win+;) - different regional keyboards use different shortcuts, so if one doesn't work, try the other 😊 You can also open the Touch Keyboard through your system tray, which then has an emoji tab.

Comment from Dominy: Every operating system is supposed to provide standard input for emojis like phones and tablets. The site was created with mobile/tablets as first priority. Emoji support have been lagging behind on windows for a long time, but this will get better very soon!
