After my application got accepted and I joined ingame last night I succesfully completed the four-step program that was sent to me by email. Now there's only the P.S., aka introducing myself, to fullfil 🙂.

I do apologise in advance, I have a tendency to ramble on 🙂.

    Personal:
I recently turned 33, live in Antwerp, Belgium and am currently on a sabbatical from work to pursue my lifelong dream to write a novel. I worked the last 10 years as a social worker for the council but the daily overload of seeing human suffering and children in need got me, to be frank, burned out. In other words: it was the perfect time for a career change 🙂.
I've dabbled in a lot of sports from football (soccer) to tabletennis, from rugby to judo, yet the past 5 years, due to a severe ankle injury, the couch and computer chair have been my "haunts" 😉.
Though I never studied it and didn't get a degree in it, I'm a total history buff which means that when I'm not gaming or writing I got my nose in history books. Particularly Celtic history, the Middle Ages (& Renaissance) in Europe & World War II. Recently been very into the Pacific theatre during WWII. Something that we really don't learn anything about here in Europe.
I am also very, very, fond of dogs. I absolutely love them. My loyal "roomie" is a Golden Retriever and aptly named "Cara", which means friend.

    Gaming:
I started my PC gaming career back in the day when a 56k modem was considered "tha bomb". Playing regular sessions of The Settlers (3 I think) online and getting my tushy kicked in the process. Thanks to a friend I later on discovered Counter-Strike and played that for quite a while and actually got quite good at it. Stopped when it hit the 1.5 mark and recently fired it back up (the new version) and realised I got rusty...Well in truth, even rust facepalmed watching me play 😝.
From there on I started playing World of Warcraft and that started my journey in both the RPG & MMO world. To be honest, I never looked back 🙂. This is the "gametype" I absolutely love the most. From Dragon Age (not II) to Elder Scrolls (not Online), from WoW to Lotro, chances are I tried/played the game 🙂.

In MMO's I've mainly fullfilled the tank role in the past but as per usual I always start out as DPS to get to learn group content and once I'm confident that I know the encounters I usually switch to or make an extra tank spec.

    The Secret World:
Thanks to having a friend playing Age of Conan I got to know Funcom and found out they were making a horror themed MMO. I basically bought a Grandmaster sub the moment I could. Then I started playing and loved the atmosphere but was so completely overwhelmed by the gameplay and the many, many choices you had to make I basically put it aside until a few weeks ago. Having a running WoW sub & also playing Lotro at the time made it so that I couldn't invest the time in TSW that it required to properly enjoy it. So in other words: it took a while but I finally managed to give this game the attention it deserves and never, never felt bad for splashing the cash for a grandmaster sub. I honestly believe that inventive gaming design should be supported and that has TSW with abundance (even though I still don't understand 75% of it, yet) 🙂.

I do dabble in some light RP from time to time and am in the proces of making a twitter account for my character so we'll see how that will turn out 🙂.

I could write an entire essay still but I suppose this'll suffice for now 🙂.

Once again, thanks for the invite and see you ingame!
