    Hi folks.

Just letting you know why I've been away the last few days, and maybe will be for a few days more.

My ongoing disability has gone into a flareup (ie, general health poor). To keep me preoccupied and distracted, my loves (my husband and our roomie/bestest friend ever/heart-sister) bought me Sims 4 (33% off!).

So right now, I'm too sick to focus & do a fair job on NM dungeons or scenarios - I'd miscount the PDZs and I know it. Plus I can haz [s]cheezburger[/s] Sims 4.

I'll be back in a few days. 😀

I seem to be feeling somewhat better.

.... wow. What a wishy-washy statement that was. Anyway, I've been able to be on a little bit, which is good. (yay)
Hopefully I'll be back to normal soon. If not, please know I still care and still want to be around, I'm just having a rotten time with my illnesses.

Thank you all for the good wishes. Sadly, they don't seem to have been heard by Gaia - the Filth is winning the battle right now. 🙁 Someone send Emma/Anima to visit me, maybe leave a teddy bear with me?

I haven't forgotten you all. It's just that TSW takes too much mental effort right now. (God that sentence is hard to type, it makes me feel so damn STUPID. And I know I'm not stupid, I'm just sick. But there's nothing 'just' about an illness that does this!)

Don't worry, we'll keep the fires burning, and when you're feeling better you'll see us again (which hopefully will be soon!)

Thank you so much, AWOL and 'pushka. This sort of support does mean a great deal, and make a great difference to me.

I have a number of mental mantras, taken from everywhere from Frank Herbert to Donne to Tubthumping. I get by (with a little help from my friends) one day, one hour, one minute at a time.

You'll know I'm starting to get better when I come back online just to chat. Right now, my brain doesn't want to sort through accents and crosstalk (teamspeak), or ... I'm not sure why it's reluctant to handle channel chat. I could always tuck myself in a quiet corner of London; but something is still going 'no! not yet!'
Weird. But I've learned that when I need rest, I need to listen to that particular .. whisper. (wide evil grin)

So I'll be back to chat. Then I'll start asking to join low-pressure group activities (normal scenarios, small groups doing the train or the tower or farming aegis or whatever).

Once I'm my normal self again ... well, I'll be back to normal. YAY!

Addendum: when I'm back to normal, if there's a raid team for newbies-to-raids, I'd love to be considered. Sadly, I can never promise that this sort of sudden crash won't happen, so I can never promise to be a reliable-team-core sort of person. 🙁 Just 'reliable-when-I-can'.

Only played with you a couple of times (you helped Morty get his AEGIS controllers, ty 🙂 ) but you were lovely and I hope you'll be back soon. Have also been dealing with chronic illness that has made me "stupid" (among other things) this year (memory? what's that again?), so I send you empathy and healing and I-hope-you-are-making-your-SIMS-do-ridiculous-things vibes.

Also: Donne is a total rockstar, definitely in league with Chumbawumba. 😉

I remember you, Morty. If I didn't show you my route, get someone to show you the route of side quests (the green ones you can get three of) that give Aegis-boosting barrels as rewards.
When I get back, you can help me do runs. 😉

I found a Sims challenge - a full house, every member with the Insane trait, you only play one member. Asylum. Your played character is the caretaker (and yes, the caretaker has the Insane trait too!)
Strict rules about what stuff is available, and what stuff you can spend money on, to reflect the stupid ways asylums are(n't) funded IRL. Also to be more challenging.
For example, no fire prevention or alerting equipment. First day, my Sims burned the stove and the neighbouring counter. Four of them charged in with extinguishers, the other four just panicked. 🙂

    As for Donne:
Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for closing time.
(She drinks a whisky drink, she drinks a vodka drink....)

Would love to run Kaidan with you when you return, whether on Morty or FrontandCenter (who is my main, and has romped around Kaidan a bit, but may have not known about a second set of controllers until after beating issue 11, so still has three at 1.2 or something 🙄 )

Your run of the SIMS sounds intriguing/reminds me of watching my partner play a game called "Prison Architect," which is a sim about managing a max security prison:

Me, looking over his shoulder: "Why are all the prisoners in one room?"
Him: "Well, it was that or cut funding to my other programs in order to give them their own cells..."
    Me: 😮

Re: Donne/Rockstar encouragement, I like to think these two go together:
www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/173370 ("So death doth touch the resurrection")
www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGytDsqkQY8 ("Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...") 😝

Happy thoughts to you until your return!

Dancer - my husband - plays Prison Architect. 🙂

He builds luxurious cells for his well-behaved prisoners, and punitive cells that are technically below-minimum-spec (I don't know how) for those that misbehave.
Apparently once you have enough stuff built, you can tell your wardens to put prisoners in specific sets of cells based on behaviour.

I like to put my workplaces (for non-prisoners) on the edge of the prison, and the places prisoners spend most of their awake time in the middle. But I do prefer Sims to Prison Architect.

I was on last night, and got my Nermagal. 😀 Hoping to be on tonight, but we'll see.
I just played "The Park". 😀

Always admire folks who have the patience for sims, although SIMS does look the most fun of them. I feel lucky my partner will call attention to the funniest or weirdest moments of his play, while I mostly play games that involve me running around smashing things. :p

Glad to hear you've been back a little! 😀
