Playing with both games, TSW and SWL.

To everyone:

If you are wanting to play both the legacy game and the new one there is something you need to know that I don't think funcom has illuminated to everyone: you need to install it into a separate directory (or just the new default) but you'll need to get the old localconfig.xml in and set it to 'read-only' to ensure TSW stays the way it is.

Just drop it into your existing TSW game directory, set to 'read-only' and then relaunch the older client. It'll reset the loading screen to the older one, adjust some game files for the older client, and then you'll have the ability to get into both.

I can't seem to get access to a simple file to download Valkkon, just edit the localconfig.xml drop those commands in and resave as localconfig.xml?

Correct. Just copy the link and/or edit the file and insert it exactly as it is. Just be sure to set it 'read-only' in order to keep the SWL launcher from updating the code. My recommendation is to install into a separate directory to keep the datafiles separate.

Something interesting to note as well: If you copy the RDB directory to the 'freshly' installed SWL directory it will shorten your installation time as the content is essentially very similar. It will patch the necessary code for the new game and definitely keep the installation times down to a minimum. I think it goes from 20+gb down to about 5gb for the updates.
