Hi there. Nethernox here. My main is Dawncloak. You can call me Dawncloak, Nox, John, or any variable thereof. I'm a big sucker for the duality of light and dark, as evinced by the names. (heh)
I am a lifelong gamer, INFP, and I know stuff about things in general. AMA.
Gaming - Usually RPGs, but I've spent a decent amount of time in WoW, Wildstar, GW2, Planetside 2, and probably a few others that I can't remember at this point. Big on survival/roguelike games too. Though recently I've been indulging in a bit of Unreal Tournament 2004 to deal with RL issues.
Re: my MMO experience - I was always playing with IRL friends, and was always dragged into their guilds as a result, which wasn't the best of experiences, in retrospect. Really, it was an issue of fitting in. I would always take it slow, immerse, and enjoy the story/experience in WoW, and level misc things like fishing/cooking, and they were the hardcore raiding types, and just not really high on empathy. (Standard dudebro mentality). I would have liked to get into raiding, but due to personal issues (parental/time/connection-wise) I couldn't keep up with them and ended up being left behind a lot. Different goals, different personalities, different styles.
Pros and cons, I suppose. It taught me to be self-sufficient in looking for guilds that share my goals/aims, which is why I'm here.
I never actually played TSW before the Steam sale on the Ultimate Edition, but have always been interested in it (even got my Templar shirt/cap from the FB game back in 2012. Represent! No coat though 😐 )
After doing a bit of reading (especially about the maturity/kindness of the community) got me really interested in it.
So, here's to making new friends and enjoying shared experiences.
Cheers,
John
P.S. I'm currently playing from Melbourne, although I might be moving back to Singapore soon. GMT+8/GMT+10. If there are any other people in the general vicinity, please don't hesitate to add me.
