I just wondered how you all feel about this?

I suppose for those that started with the game it could seem pretty annoying that you can now level to decent end gear spec at a fraction of the time sink. Although I play very infrequent nowadays it took a long time to get to the mediocre gear level I am at now. It seems I could probably level an alt to the same gear as my main in a few weeks.

I am hearing now that purple signets are handed out like toffee as well. Which I don't think I like the sound of, that was a worthy grind and also high value in Pax. I don't have any good signets but I have been grinding away and shed loads of green and blue ones now, not many I have use of yet.

It just seems to me they are doing their best to lure in new or returning players, making progression much faster, at the real possibility of alienating the long term players.

Like I say, most of this is good for a quick casual session I am accustomed to, it means I can progress in an hour with 2 kids hanging off me. But I can't help but feel new and casual/returning players will benefit at the cost of losing the population foundation. If they lose the players that play the most, grab a few new/returning that don't stick around, then the population may dwindle to an all time low.

I actually started an alt with the intention of getting them running the blue signet quests to help my main along. It is shocking how dead the general questing game world is (Grim anyway). I have rushed her to BM and I maybe only saw about 2 people in around 6 hours of questing! But it brought back good times and it is a great solo game now. It is far easier than it used to be, I guess a combination of the nerf and some experience of skills etc..

Short version they are not doing this right.

This will not benefit new players anymore than old ones, as faster progression does not mean more enjoyment, as content giving .4.4 now does not offer the challenge that requires that gear, even NMs and elite raids are too easy for the gear.

That said, signets needed some changing, however what FC has done with blue bags given too all killing the new bosses might not have been the best idea. The total impact however will only be seen after a while, when hoarded keys are used up and normal supply takes over. It is likely that they will tweak the drops from the bags, where you get even less chance to get new signets. A proper way to do this though would have been making some signets real alternatives to laceration and order, that alone would have brought prices down all while increasing trade and giving more gearing options.

I expect that we will see increase in augment prices as result of these changes, as signets becomes cheaper and pax supply into the economy increases. Which FC will solve in their usual manner, by capping PAX forcing everyone to have bank alts 😝

Who and where hands out purple signets? Don't think I heard anything about signet drop rate changes and I want to know more.

I have no personal experience on the Signets, but I have read a few threads mentioning world bosses and BB bought purple signet bags. Some people saying they got xx purples in a few hours.

Yeah I would feel the same about content difficulty. There is even less use for your currency early on in the game now, when you know it can buy better permanent gear later. I may have used sequins on my main to get some shiny new blues when questing. I wouldn't be doing that with BB. And the gatekeeper (for me) was the first mobile high DPS test, with other mechanics. It is going to be far easier for people now, if you gear right before running nightmares you could potentially skip some mechanics there too with high DPS.

Oh well, I'm looking forward to spending the most BB I have ever had later!

I guess what I am trying to say is if I had played the last year, raided and done my best to improve my gear. I would have felt a bit miffed that me logging in now could equal his gear with my 2400 BB, even if short with minimal skill based questing.

And what does it mean to players, of which I am not included, that want the gear without a challenge. Is it now best to quickly rush through known missions in Kingsmouth that you one hit groups of enemies.

purple signets are not handed out, but blue bags are. So if you manage to participate in world boss kills, you get a blue bag per kill + chance to roll on purple if you are in summoning group. Then you can add blue bags for BBs on top of that.
