    Hi there,

Sorry I missed the TSW goodbye party 🙁

So... i got into the Legends beta and tried it.

Unfortunately I hate the new reticle/combat system. It's may be a big plus for some players but I just can't get into it. Believe me I wanted it, you all know I love TSW and spent quite some time in the game, but this system just won't click for me.

So this means I won't be playing Legends and will not join you all (re)discovering and progressing in the game. I hope most of you won't have much problems with the new combatsystem and/or the new f2p mechanics/features. (There are many good improvements btw).

Thanks for the 2 years (I think) I spent in ODO. I played more with some than others but I will remember all members of ODO as a nice family 😉.

    Good luck to you all!

How was the interaction with weapons and builds? Better? Worse?

I liked thee old build system.

I may came to my conclusion too soon. With some help I remapped some stuff so that it feels more TSW-ish, and I'm enjoying it more now. So I may initiate a 'come-back' 😎

    I'm thinking the same thing...
most likely I will not play SWL if the final release is like the current beta...

I gave it another shot when headstart started, but unfortunately I uninstalled Legends already.

I adjusted a bit to the new combatsystem and it went from 'terrible' to 'ok'. Still not a fan, but enjoyable enough.

    Other issues appeared, though.

Gearprogression is crazy. It's fun at the beginning, and I initially liked it a lot: it feels very rewarding since all items you get from missions can be used to upgrade your stuff. But then you learn that it's will become very tedious later on:
    1) Level 2 items up to level 20 (more in higher tiers, I think)
    2) Fuse them to get one item of the next tier
    3) Repeat this 3x, since there are 5 tiers, with every tier a harder/longer experiencebar
    4) Repeat this for every single peace of gear
    5) Repeat this even more if you want to have gear for all roles
    x) Glyphs and signetsprogression. Did not see the tutorial for that since I was level 27 and had not seen a glyph or signet, yet, but I got an item that contained glyphexperience so that might indicate you can 'level up' those items too.

I also did not enjoy having to do the story again. They made the difficulty easier, not to my liking That in combination with the new combatsystem, which as I mentioned is 'ok' at best for me, is making doing the story all over not much enjoyable for me. I foresee some F2P mechanics that are going to annoy me at later stage of the game:
    - inventoryspace for when you get more and more items and in different tiers + glyphs and signets.
    - lack of MoFs because of daily challenges limitations
    - endgame without rewarding dungeons (if the rewards are just lockboxes like in storymode)
x - (lifetime) patronstatus isn't worth much currently

My conclusion is that I don't want to play Legends this way. I could have lived with the combatsystem, but at this point other things feels too tedious and too restrictive: too F2P-ish. I know it's just out and they will make changes so I will check it from time to time, but it will stay a F2P game.

I hope others have a good time and/or have more patience than I had and that it pays off. And I hope that it stays fun after the first few weeks.

    I'm out.

Goodbye (this time probably for real, but you'll never know 😉 ).

So far, I am decidedly underwhelmed by the new combat system and interface in general.

I have reassigned keys so I can use my skills with the rpg mouse, but even so. I think it's
too limiting. Not enough skills to start with, too many limitations on what skills I can even
put on the bar ... and the permanent target mode most certainly gets my goat. Having to
press the Alt key every time I want to use my mouse for anything other than spinning
the camera is not how I would choose to play.

Just for kicks I revived my old main, Annkatrin today. She's level 6 (I think) ... and locked out of taking
the postal van side missions in KM. You've got to be ^$)! joking! I don't know how you guys got your
power leveling done - but, the designers artificially slowing me down like that just - you guessed it - gets
    my goat yet again.

I can only agree with Forest about the gear updating progress/process. I can see this developing into
the boring grind to bore all boring grinds to death. Already getting tired of 'rinse and repeat' after
doing this routine for a couple of weeks. You want your gear to progress properly? Buy aurum. And,
well, I'd rather pay a sub than playing 'pay to win'.

So, no, I am not enjoying myself very much so far. Unless this gets a lot better soon, I may just spend
my gaming time on something exciting like Stardew Valley. (note for the humour impaired: that's sarcasm, b.t.w.)

    😥
