Another I think we might want to include is Vikestart's new cabal, Keepers of Solomon. He's one of the leads of TSWDB, founded his own cabal recently-- he's, honestly, good people, gets them some attention and I know he has his own resources as a known member of the community. Just idea, yeah, another Templar cabal helping in the event, but it's never, in my book, a zero sum. It's about people finding communities they like and fit them, and they join, and keep playing because of friends.

I think it's time to set this up proper, as it's decided that we'll run something.

    Coordinators for ODO:
Responsible for communication and coordination with other organizations, sorting out ODO activities and times, as well as coordinating those who might volunteer.

Psy <-- have you volunteered, or did I misunderstand it?
Pyre <-- Am I right to understand that you have agreed to help Psy

    Current suggestions:
    Parade of fools
    Coordinator: Unknown
    Date & time: Unknown
    Music: Unknown
    Commentators: Unknown
    Streamers: Unknown
    Parade of cools
    Coordinator: Unknown
    Date & time: Unknown
    Music: Unknown
    Commentators: Unknown
    Streamers: Unknown
    Main Party
    Coordinator: Unknown
    Date & time: Unknown
    Music: Unknown
    Commentators: Unknown
    Streamers: Unknown
    Flash mob
    Coordinator: Unknown
    Date & time: Unknown
    Music: Unknown
    Commentators: Unknown
    Streamers: Unknown

If we can get multiple streamers per event, I'll look into how to combine it one stream so that each streamer basically becomes a camera and we can have some cool effects. But pointless if there is just one or none 😝

One more thing about recording, while you can stream with music in background, the video will get muted on twitch and youtube if there is no permission to use it for the video. This does not affect the events themselves, but will be an issue for later video if not addressed.

ODO can provide public TS for the event, we need to look at how to make part of the channels public, which probably means moving away from server wide password.

And we should totally get someone from FC to "come into studio" for a talk during one or more of the events.

I will take Parade of fools, if possible.

Act silly, walk silly, speak silly, do pranks, dress silly, TSW joke telling contest at the Fallen King, fits my mind and sense of humour - an all incluive bunch of idiots! HURRAH!! Flash mobs could be done by all above using ShouOut?

Also Batman (sorry Schmerd) didn't I hear you say we could have a ts server for looooads of ppl? (not just 35)

  • June 9, 2015, 3:19 p.m.

We can set up a temp password (I'm thinking anniversity) on the TS server for omnedatumoptimum.red for the event. That can hold up to 512 users 🙂

Yeah, I am working on setting it up. I am waiting for a couple of other big organizations to set their date so we don't schedule ours on top of it. What we do is schedule out a block next to another group so that there is a continuation of events.

Open TS might be hard to moderate. I would suggest keeping it to people you can trust. Guests on a stream would be cool.

A party would be a good way to finish up.

What about a dungeon run competition and or PVP?

Dungeon Run competition might be having teams of a certain average of AP and gear (green for normal, blues for Elite, Nightmares, etc) and do a timed competition.

Usually an event would run 3-4 hours. Which is 2-3 events at the most. More than likely 2 events

Getting someone from FC, we would need to basically apply to the community coordinator for that request UNLESS someone knows of another way 😉

It would be a huge boon, though. Party and costume contest would be the easiest. PVP or dungeon competition would be hard and the prizes would have to be enticing.

As for working with Vike, yeah, of course. What I have noticed is that people are forming ideas but no time or date is set which makes it harder to partner up.

However, that being said we may want to pick our date and time so we have time to prepare

LP, maybe we should talk in TS and start brainstorming

Yes some solid ideas are required. Parade of fools and parade of cools should start at diferent places and finish at the same place.

Then let's set our date and time and give it to them, if we get conflict, we can choose to change if possible, but we can't wait on everyone or there will be no time.

Start with the big party and then see how we can schedule other events around it, if we can have dates and times by end of this week, we can start advertizing, working out details of the events and practical stuff like TS/no TS, streaming, music etc

Ok so schedule a big party. I say the Horned God (With Psy/Beth Dj'ing) as the end party place which is more inclusive, so we need date time and then events that lead to that place/time? Parades I guess. Once there we can flash mob places in TSW from there so we get more ppl attend.

Ok, LP and I were talking about a couple of ideas that seem to fit well with ODO at this point.
    Tell us what you think.

    1. PVP tournament - Can by 1x1 2x2, etc. Bracketed competition. Can be an a PVP zone or at one of the fight clubs. I believe TSWDB has done this so maybe we can partner with them

    2. Dungeon Run - Green gear, inner wheel, race for fastest time dungeon competition. This is the one I like the best but requires more planning.
LP brought up some good points. Taking Polaris as an example.

      1. Each team would be 4 players. The 5th would be an ODO official and if they can stream then you get color commentary!
      2. Inner wheel skills only
      3. Green gear level only
      4. Timed in a way to allow for slow loaders. Basically timed on running the dungeon itself.

I would suggest we only do one of these. We can run them over a couple of days if needed. Limit the entries so we can plan on having the right number of people there.

    Of course prizes
Party at the end if you want

I would also suggest we partner with Sanctuary. They are doing a pretty mild event but I think reciprocated support would be good
Once we decide we need to immediately start organizing and getting publicity going.
Will need to talk to TSW community manger for support
Will need a strong ODO turn out if it is going to be an ODO event.
    Twitch streaming would be great

Ok, so you do not want ODO to arrange any social event, just a competition for the hardcore?

  • June 14, 2015, 4:08 p.m.

Do we not already have the parade of cools & fools for social?

I understand it that instead of parades and party we are doing competition, or am I missing something?

This is all of my opinion and nothing else. <----------

First, I am going to be using a phrase like community event. This isn't saying ODO isn't highly recognized, but hosting community events on a regular basis and especially for big occasions is typically not associated with us. ODO sponsored #IAMTSW which is awesome and that kind of stuff moves ODO into a more visible realm.

I think a social event should be the definite. It is easy to setup and we can have prizes (costume, trivia, etc). This is the easiest.

The reason I would hold off on any parades is that ODO is recognized by name but community events are typically handled by other organizations. A parade would be successful if there is a good turn out. That is hard right now.

The anniversary tends to go a little over a week. The first weekend is July 4th and the second weekend RFG has Friday and Sat. Thursdays have been nice to me.

    1. Social event for sure. People love those. Also easier to partner up with another organization and go back to back
    2. PVP or Dungeon Runs - would be technically more difficult but falls within the ODO culture right now.
    3. I would suggest holding off on the parade. I think once we get established with community events it will be easier.
    4. We could also volunteer to help new players. Specifically take them around, run dungeons with them, whatever. I usually will give them some Pax as a welcome to the game. Kind of thing
    5. Regardless of choices we need a strong ODO turn out. Members need to schedule some time out. If there are only a couple of us then it doesn't come off as an ODO thing. When I did my protest we had 12 ODO members. That is awesome and it became an ODO event.

Just pick and event and a day(s)/time(s) and I will get going on this

We have a DJ in the guild are we able to get it posted on radio free gia?
    www.radiofreegaia.com/

Costume contest in London on the stage, in the park.
Scavenge hunts, not sure how we can do that one at this time.
    Also offer guided monster hunts.
    Also an RP event.

DJPsy's away atm i think, but we should be able to advertise (again, I think...).

We need to firm this up soon, as we're getting very close to it and we need to advertise if we're going to get people coming!!

Ok, I think this is what I would like to set up. New players are important. So during the next week I want to set up time slots where we welcome new players and take them through their basic dungeons as a Hello. The hours would be staggered over 2 or 3 days. Will set up a sign up sheet and start putting the publicity out

I'm sorry I dropped the ball. For the last couple of weeks I have been dealing with a lot. I have been doing my best to stay cheerful but the reality is it looks like I have a tumor and that has thrown me for a loop. I don't need any condolences or anything, just hope to have a gimme on this event.

Ok, that sucks massively, sorry to hear it.

If Pyre is in on the plan, we can try to see if we can mobilize something to get it going anyways.
